Further details and terms for the Open House London photography competition, sponsored by Architects Journal:

Open House and AJ invite you to capture a building, view or an aspect of any building included in this year’s Open House London Weekend. There are two categories – one for architects on the theme of ‘Architectural details’, and one for everybody else on the theme of 'The changing face of London’.

Pick your category and capture the essence of the theme in an interesting, engaging and striking way and be in with a chance of winning a 'La Sardina' 35mm camera with flash by Lomography. Open House may even showcase entries and use in future publicity. Your photo can be of any building you have visited in Open House London 2011, an exterior or interior shot, with people or without – it’s up to you. Our expert panel of judges includes AJ Art Editor Brad Yendle and architectural photographers Ed Reeve and Grant Smith.

Categories, criteria, terms and how to enter

There are two categories – one for the public on the theme of ‘The changing face of London’, and one for architects on the theme of ‘Architectural details’

To enter, email ONE photo to photocomp@open-city.org.uk that you have selected as your best shot to (must be high resolution jpegs, not more than 8mb in size), together with your name, which category you are entering for, address and phone number, and the name of the building. Closing date for entries is Monday 26 September 2011

Winners will receive a 'La Sardina' 35mm camera with flash by Lomography

Submitted photos may also be used in future Open House publicity as some of last years entries have been used in the publicity for this years event

Winners will be notified by end of October 2011. Please note photos entered into the competition will be uploaded by Open House to this page for all to see and only winners will be contacted

Terms:
Acceptance of Rules: by entering, each entrant accepts these terms. 

All photographs must have been taken during Open House London 2011 event.

All entries must be submitted as above and received by the closing time and date.

Only one entry per person and one submission per entry.

Open House does not accept responsibility for incomplete entries due to email provider or other causes beyond Open House control.

Open House reserves the right to disqualify and remove from the website any entry which in its sole opinion it deems to be inappropriate to the event’s objectives in any way. Entries will be judged on three criteria: creativity, quality of photograph and significance to the theme.

Winning entries will be chosen by our panel of judges. The judges’ decision is final and no further correspondence will be entered into.

The entrant guarantees that s/he is the sole owner of the work and that the work does not infringe any copyright, violate any other property rights, contain any scandalous, libelous, or unlawful matter, or make any improper invasion to the privacy of any person; that the work has not as a whole heretofore been published; that (s)he is the sole and exclusive owner of the rights.

All entrants agree that their name and images can be displayed on Open House website and in any future, marketing, advertising, press or publications relating to Open House initiatives without charge. Open House will take every care to include the image credit where possible. By entering the competition you have confirmed this authorization. Image will not be displayed in any other way without the permission of the artist, and all entrants retain copyright for all images submitted.

All entrants accept that the other images (s)he have mailed to Open House on CD will apply to the same condition to above (9).

All images mailed to Open House on CD will not be returned.

Winners will be notified by email by end of October 2011.

The prizes as described are available on the date of publication. All prizes are non transferable and there are no cash alternatives.
