Below, you can find out all about the local context of this borough's architecture, areas undergoing change and projects under construction.

Hillingdon is a strong London borough with a strong local economy. In order to continue on track with Hillingdon’s aspirations sfor a prosperous economy the council and their partners have come up with a series on initiatives.

The recent opening of Hayes Business Studios on the Hayes Community Campus, Uxbridge College provides the accommodation needed to generate better business in the area. The new studios are low-cost accommodation for infant businesses. The studios offer subsidised rent, support and advice, meeting and training room facilities and flexible lease terms. It is a brilliant initiative that will surely encourage revenue and investment in the area.

In terms of regeneration Hillingdon borough offers a unique Chrysalis Programme. The programme is aimed at improving environmental and community safety through projects dealing with council land and facilities. The programme is heavily community based and relies on residents and resident associations’ ideas and needs. The finished projects often provide progress for the community and the borough in general. A series of newly landscaped footpaths in Hayes have made access around the area easier and in Ruislip the demolition of a derelict WC block has improved safety.
Currently the borough is advocating a ‘Love your parks’ summer. Hillingdon, as the second largest borough in London, has more than 200 green spaces, which cover almost 1,800 acres.
